Sarawak Polls: Four-cornered fight shaping up for Padungan seat


A four-cornered fight is shaping up for the Padungan state seat at the heart of Kuching.

First to arrive was Parti Bumi Kenyalang candidate Raymond Thong Ee Yu at 8am.

Second to arrive at the nomination centre was Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Datuk Wee Hong Seng at 8.21am, who is also the former Kuching South Mayor.

Sarawak People’s Aspiration party Lina Soo arrived at 8.27am. She will be taking on the Padungan seat

Sarawak DAP chairman Chong Chieng Jen arrives at Padungan nomination centre in Kuching South City Hall at 8.30am.

Nominations will be closed at 10am.

The Padungan seat was last held by Wong King Wei, who resigned from DAP July last year, citing disillusionment with the party’s direction and management.
