Sarawak caretaker chief minister and GPS chairman Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg walks towards the Gedong community hall where he is greeted with chants of "Hidup GPS" from his supporters in the surrounding area. This is his first time contesting in Gedong, a seat that has traditionally been won by his Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB).

Another candidate in Gedong is Mohamad Sofian Fariz Sharbini, who is representing Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB). With Amanah and Parti Bumi Kenyalang, Abang Jo looks set to be in a four-way contest in Gedong.

SUPP candidate Milton Foo also arrived at the nomination centre at the South Kuching Town council hall, where he will be filing candidacy for the Pending seat at 8.06am

8.30am : Tomson Ango of Parti Bumi Kenyalang is the first of Abang Johari's contenders to make an appearance at the Gedong nomination centre. PBK is a party fighting for the independence of Sarawak.
8.45am: Pakatan Harapan's candidate in the Gedong seat is Parti Amanah Negara's Kamal Bujang is the second to arrive at the Gedong Community Hall nomination centre.
Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) 66-years-old Voon Lee Shan (mid) will be contesting the Batu Lintang seat. He arrived with his seconder at 8.45am.

Pending incumbent Violet Yong has arrived at 8.54am.
Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s Sih Hua Tong arrived at 8.55am and he will be contesting the Batu Lintang seat
