Doa Selamat performed for Douglas Uggah ahead of Bukit Saban nomination


KUCHING: The Malay community in Spaoh performed a doa selamat ceremony for the Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Bukit Saban candidate Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah before he left for the nomination centre at the Spaoh sub-district office.

Spaoh mosque imam Ibrahim Rajili led the doa recital at Uggah's Bukit Saban service centre.

On Sunday (Dec 5) evening, Uggah's supporters organised a special miring (Iban traditional offering ceremony) at his Rh Mendit Unsu longhouse near Spaoh in the Betong division.

Uggah, who is the Bukit Saban incumbent, arrived at the nomination centre at about 8.15am on Monday (Dec 6), accompanied by his proposer Datuk Robert Lawson Chuat and seconder Nahariah Mohd Spawi.

Also filing their nomination papers were PSB’s Andria anak Dundang @ Andria Gelayan and PKR's Mikail Mathew Abdullah.
