MetMalaysia warns of thunderstorms in 10 states

PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast for most parts of Malaysia, including Selangor and Kuala Lumpur.

In an advisory issued by the Meteorological Department at 3.20pm on Monday (June 16), thunderstorms are expected over the entire state of Perlis, Kedah, Selangor and Penang.

Also affected are Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Manjung, Perak Tengah, Bagan Datuk and Hilir Perak), Pahang (Jerantut, Maran and Kuantan), Negri Sembilan (Seremban and Port Dickson), Johor (Kluang, Pontian, Kulai, Kota Tinggi and Johor Baru) and the Federal Territories of Kuala Lumpur and Putrajaya.

Other areas are Sarawak: Sarikei (Sarikei and Meradong), Sibu (Sibu and Selangau), Mukah, Kapit (Belaga), Miri and Limbang and Sabah: Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan and Keningau) and West Coast (Penampang, Kota Kinabalu and Tuaran).

The advisory is until 6pm today.
