Puteri Umno invites Syed Saddiq, Bella to join 'Rumah Bangsa'

KUALA LUMPUR: Puteri Umno chief Datuk Nurul Amal Fauzi has extended an open invitation to Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman and his fiancée Bella Astillah to be part of Umno's "Rumah Bangsa" initiative, describing it as an inclusive platform.

Nurul Amal said the concept of Rumah Bangsa was rooted in openness and sincerity and was not limited by political affiliation or personal background.

"Rumah Bangsa welcomes everyone. It is open to all without any hint of favouritism – even the Muar MP (Syed Saddiq) and his fiancée, Bella, are more than welcome to join us," she said in her speech at Umno's 80th Convention here on Saturday (May 2).

Nurul Amal described Rumah Bangsa as a symbol of unity, compassion and renewed hope for the party.

"This reflects Umno's ability to serve as a bridge that brings people together," she added.

Syed Saddiq, a former president of the Malaysian United Democratic Alliance (Muda), stepped down from the post in November 2023 but remains a party member.

He has also opted not to contest in Muda's 2026 party elections.

Away from politics, his relationship with Bella Astillah has attracted public attention in recent months. The couple were engaged on March 28.
