Teo wishes Syed Saddiq good luck over July 13 court decision

KUALA LUMPUR: Deputy Communications Minister Teo Nie Ching wished Muar MP Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman good luck in the Dewan Rakyat after a court decision on his graft appeal was postponed to July 13.

Teo made the remark while responding to Syed Saddiq’s (Muda-Muar) question on the rising sophistication of online scams and the role of social media platforms in enabling fraudulent activity.

“Good to see you here, wish you all the best on the 13th of July,” she said, referring to the rescheduled Federal Court decision involving Syed Saddiq’s appeal in his Armada funds graft case.

The exchange came as Syed Saddiq raised alarm over the rapid evolution of scam operations, warning that artificial intelligence is now being used to create highly convincing impersonations, including voice and video calls that can mimic family members.

The much-awaited decision in the prosecution's appeal against Syed Saddiq acquittal in his graft case involving Armada funds has been postponed to July 13.

The decision was initially scheduled to be delivered today (June 30), but it was adjourned due to one of the Federal Court judges, Justice Che Mohd Ruzima Ghazali, being ill.
