A DIFFERENT kind of urban sanctuary has opened its doors among Kuala Lumpur’s skyscrapers.

Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur is a glittering name on the skyline and a place designed to feel like home, whether you are staying a week, a month or longer.

With 353 units, this is Marriott’s largest executive apartments property in Asia-Pacific, outside China and only the second in Malaysia.

Located about five minutes from KLCC Park and within sight of the PETRONAS Twin Towers, it marries the city’s cosmopolitan energy with the comfort and privacy of a personal residence.

General manager Grant Young said they offered extended-stay guests everything they would have at home and then layer on five-star service.

“Our apartments were designed with longer stays in mind,” he said after the grand opening of the luxury apartments.

“The rooms have a larger footprint, full kitchens with all the glassware, china and utensils you need, in-room washers and dryers, so you can literally move in as soon as you arrive.”

The apartments range from studio units with park views to expansive three-bedroom layouts perfect for families.

But unlike a private rental, guests also enjoy the full suite of Marriott services; daily housekeeping, engineering support, 24-hour concierge and access to hotel-grade amenities.

In a market crowded with luxury condominiums and serviced residences, Young believes the brand’s reputation for comfort and quality sets them apart.

“Yes, there is a lot of competition here, but our brand is well-known internationally.”

Those facilities include a 24/7 fitness centre, a 30m KLCC park-facing lap pool, a fully-equipped gym, sauna, children’s splash zone and dedicated playroom.

Food is another area where Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur leans into both its global brand standards and local roots.

Bistro Kia Peng, the property’s signature restaurant, serves a menu inspired by modern Malaysian cuisine.

“With the brand comes the expectation of international standards,” said Young.

“But we also want to represent Malaysian culture to both local guests and international customers.”

While corporate guests remained the core market, Young said demand was diversifying.

The apartments are attracting families relocating to Kuala Lumpur and travellers on extended educational or medical stays.

Marriott International Indonesia & Malaysia regional vice-president Ramesh Jackson said the opening of Marriott Executive Apartments Kuala Lumpur marked their 58th hotel in Malaysia under the Marriott Bonvoy portfolio.

“Supported by a strong pipeline of both new builds and conversions, by the end of this year that number will grow to 62 and we are on track to reach 75 open hotels nationwide over the next two years,” he said.

“Today is more than a ribbon-cutting ceremony. It’s a celebration of partnership, of shared ambition and the endless possibilities ahead of us, when we bring together the best of local vision and global expertise.”

A team at the 24-hour front desk and concierge service ensures personalised assistance at every turn, from travel arrangements to insider recommendations.
