PETALING JAYA: The results of the Negri Sembilan polls will serve as a catalyst for a broader wave of change, says Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang.
“I would like to express my deepest appreciation to the people of Negri Sembilan for the trust and confidence they have placed in Perikatan Nasional,” the PAS president said in a statement on Saturday night (Aug 1).
This result sends a clear signal that the people support efforts towards penyatuan ummah (Muslim unity), founded on the principles of justice, well-being and harmony within Malaysia's multicultural society.
"Insya-Allah, this victory will serve as the catalyst for a broader wave of change aimed at restoring the nation, while building an administration that is clean, caring and stable,” he added.
Abdul Hadi said PAS was cognisant of the responsibility and trust that it has been entrusted with through the elections.
“Our priority is to honour this mandate by advancing an agenda centred on public welfare, integrity and fairness for all,” he said.
I also wish to record my appreciation to the leadership of Perikatan Nasional and Barisan Nasional, as well as all candidates, party workers and campaign machinery who stood together in unity to secure the Perikatan-Barisan victory today,” he added.
Perikatan secured seven out of the 11 seats it contested.
