Negri polls: BN-PN set to form state govt after capturing 25 seats, claims Umno sec-gen Asyraf

PETALING JAYA: Barisan Nasional is confident of forming the Negri Sembilan state government after securing a majority of seats based on unofficial results, says Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki.

Asyraf said Barisan, alongside its ally in the Negri Sembilan state election, Perikatan Nasional, were leading in a combined 25 seats based on unoffical results.

"This will allow Barisan and Perikatan to form the state government with a two-thirds majority," he said at the Barisan war room on Saturday (Aug 1).

Based on unofficial results, Barisan has secured 18 seats, while Perikatan has 7, bringing the total seats to 25.
