MELAKA: Fielding young candidates will not automatically win Pakatan Harapan the youth vote in the Melaka polls, says state PKR acting chairman Adam Adli Abd Halim.
"We cannot assume that with young candidates, we can immediately win over young voters," he told a press conference here on Tuesday (Nov 3).

He said young people's choices were shaped by those around them, and young candidates had to win over older voters, including parents.
Adam Adli said the Nov 14 polls were the first in Melaka involving Undi18 voters, which was why Pakatan was fielding young candidates.
He said some parties put up flags and held ceramah for young people but did not field them as candidates.
"In Pakatan, we abolish this," he said.
State Pakatan chairman Adly Zahari said family and social media also played a part in how young people voted.
"Sometimes when we campaign and meet families, we ask how many children they have. The family determines the direction of the voter," he said.
Adam Adli said Pakatan would also hold relaxed coffee sessions where youths can meet young leaders.
The first session tonight will feature Lembah Jaya assemblyman Syed Ahmad Syed Abdul Rahman Alhadad, better known as rapper Altimet, and Ketari assemblywoman Young Syefura Othman.
Melaka goes to the polls on Nov 14, with early voting on Nov 10.
