A MAN with multiple criminal records was arrested after crashing into a police vehicle in Tanah Merah, Kelantan, Harian Metro reported.
The man was nabbed after repeatedly reversing his four-wheel-drive vehicle next to a padi field along Jalan Masjid Tok Che Dol before crashing into a police vehicle.
Tanah Merah OCPD Supt Mohd Haki Hasbullah said a team from the district’s Criminal Investigation Department spotted the suspicious vehicle and attempted to question the driver.
However, driver sped off.
“The police pursued the vehicle until it reached a padi field, where the suspect abruptly stopped and reversed at high speed, hitting the front of the police vehicle.
“Despite being ordered to exit the vehicle, the suspect refused and continued attempting to hit the officers by reversing several more times,” he added.
The police were forced to shoot the vehicle’s rear tyres after the suspect refused to stop despite repeated warnings.
The suspect was eventually arrested without any injuries and his vehicle seized.
Mohd Haki said preliminary investigation revealed that he had 13 previous criminal records and the case is being investigated under Section 307 of the Penal Code for attempted murder.
> Former national footballer Hairudin Omar is offering Malaysians performing the haj and umrah a “taste of home” while in Saudi Arabia.
The footballer said he was inspired to open a restaurant offering Malaysian cuisine while he was in the holy land performing umrah.
“During the umrah, I met many pilgrims who had difficulty finding Malaysian food in Mecca.
“From there arose my desire to bring the taste of Malaysia here.
“So soon after, I opened a restaurant here that offered Malaysian food such as nasi lemak, roti canai, asam pedas and so on,” he told Kosmo!
Hairudin said that it is not easy to run a food business abroad, especially in Saudi Arabia, as there are various strict conditions to be met, such as food safety standards and kitchen specifications set by the local authorities.
