SEREMBAN: After more than three decades occupying the official residence of the Undang of Sungei Ujong, Datuk Seri Mubarak Dohak has been told to vacate the premises, according to a leaked letter.
This came to light after a letter dated April 29 from the state secretary’s office here went viral.
The letter, addressed to Mubarak’s private secretary, was signed by Akmal Farid Rizal Noordin, secretary of the management services division.
The letter stated that the order to vacate the premises was in line with a meeting of the Dewan Keadilan dan Undang (DKU) on April 17.
“In line with the special DKU session, you are hereby ordered to vacate the official premises and Balai Undang Luak Sungei Ujong immediately and ensure that all registered government assets remain in good condition for inspection purposes,” read the letter.
It is learnt that the letter was hand-delivered by an officer from the state secretary’s office to the Undang’s official residence at 4.40pm yesterday.
A representative from the Undang’s office confirmed receiving the letter.
The representative added that the matter would be referred to their lawyers for further action.
When contacted, state secretary Datuk Mohd Zafir Ibrahim refused to comment.
Observations at the official residence indicate that are no signs of preparations currently underway that indicate the premises is being vacated.
On April 19, Mubarak read a declaration removing Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir as the Negri Sembilan Yang di-Pertuan Besar on grounds of misconduct.
The declaration was also signed by the three other ruling chiefs – Undang of Jelebu Datuk Maarof Mat Rashad, Undang of Johol Datuk Muhammed Abdullah and Undang of Rembau Datuk Abdul Rahim Yasin.
The four unanimously named the Tunku Panglima of Negri Sembilan, Tunku Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar, as the 12th Yang di-Pertuan Besar.
On April 20, Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun said the state government refused to accept or recognise the declaration as Mubarak no longer had the authority because he was removed as Undang of Sungei Ujong on May 13, 2025.
The four ruling chiefs then sought the removal of Aminuddin.
