Choi marries much younger fitness coach

HONG Kong celebrity Charlene Choi (pic) has announced her marriage, sharing bridal photos and a diamond ring on social media, major Chinese dailies reported.

“Congratulations to me for marrying you, and to you for marrying me,” she wrote.

The 43-year-old member of Twins, fondly known as Ah Sa, went public earlier this year with her relationship with fitness coach Elvis Lam, who is 10 years her junior.

Choi was previously married to singer Ronald Cheng, with their 2006 union only revealed upon their 2010 divorce.

She later dated businessman Anthony Shek before they split in 2023.

> China Press reported that barista Ryan Liew has made Malaysia proud by winning the 2026 World Matcha Latte Art Championship in Vietnam.

Recalling his journey, he said he nearly gave up before the competition, questioning himself while helping another barista prepare.

“At one point, I almost quit,” he said, adding that he chose instead to trust his experience and go all in.

Liew, who finished fourth at the 2023 World Latte Art Championship, credited judges’ feedback and his supporters for pushing him to perform at his best.

> The daily also reported that a Penang hawker had raised the price of his famed RM2.50 jawa mee to RM3.50 – his first increase since 2012.

Lim Lian Hor, 71, said rising costs linked to global geopolitical conflicts since March have made it impossible for him to continue with the low price.

“If I don’t adjust, the business will run at a loss,” he said.

The Farlim hawker has been selling jawa mee for over 50 years and has a loyal following.
