PUTRAJAYA: A special task force from the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is following its procedures and protocols to investigate the shooting of three men in Durian Tunggal, Melaka, says Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail.
He said the investigation would be a thorough one, taking into account all statements and findings, including those involving police personnel who were part of the operation.

"Bukit Aman has set up a special task force, as announced by CID director Comm Datuk M. Kumar.
"(The task force) will take statements from the families who initially spoke to lawyers about the alleged audio recordings and other matters. This falls within its scope," he told a press conference after attending the ministry’s monthly assembly here on Thursday (Dec 11).
On Wednesday (Dec 10), Comm Kumar said the special task force had recorded the statements of seven people – three family members of the deceased, and four medical officers.

On Nov 24, Melaka police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Dzulkhairi Mukhtar said three alleged criminals were shot dead after one of them attacked a policeman with a machete at an oil palm plantation in Durian Tunggal.
The deceased were said to be members of the Durian Tunggal Gang and were believed to be on their way to commit a robbery.

The gang had been operating since early last year and was linked to 20 cases in Melaka and one case each in Negri Sembilan and Selangor, causing losses amounting to RM1.35mil.
Previously, Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Mohd Khalid Ismail said police had received a compact disc containing an audio recording of a telephone conversation between one of the suspects and his wife before the incident occurred.
