Bukit Aman forms special team to probe Durian Tunggal shooting

KUALA LUMPUR: the Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has formed a special team to take over a probe into an incident where three suspects were shot dead after injuring a policeman in Durian Tunggal, Melaka.

Bukit Aman CID director Comm Datuk M. Kumar said an investigation was opened on Nov 24 under Section 307 of the Penal Code by the Melaka CID following the incident.

"Family members of the deceased suspects lodged on police reports Dec 3, expressing dissatisfaction over action taken by police during the incident," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Dec 3).

Comm Kumar said to ensure a thorough and impartial investigation, a special team was set up at police headquarters.

"This team will fully take over the investigation, including looking into reports lodged by the families of the suspects," he said.

He also advised the public not to speculate or manipulate facts that could disrupt or compromise the integrity of the investigation.
