Three killed in two-vehicle crash in Kota Tinggi


KOTA TINGGI: Two men and a woman were killed in a two-vehicle crash near a petrol station in Tanjung Leman, Jalan Jemaluang here on Tuesday (Aug 25) afternoon.

Operations commander Senior Fire Officer II Azlan Hamzah said they received a call about the crash at 5.05pm and a team of eight firefighters were dispatched to the scene, about 45 kilometres from the station.

“The team arrived to find a crash between a Honda City and a Toyota Vios.

“A man, 21, and a woman, 20, in the Honda City, as well as a man, 31, in the Toyota Vios, were pronounced dead by Health Ministry officers.

"The team removed the victims using a rescue cutter and stretcher before handing them over to the police for further action,” he said in a statement, adding that the operation ended at 6.59pm.

Meanwhile, Kota Tinggi OCPD Supt Othman said in a separate statement that the case was still under investigation. – Bernama
