MyKad printing services to face disruptions from Aug 26-31

PUTRAJAYA: MyKad printing services nationwide are expected to experience temporary disruption from Wednesday (Aug 26) to the following Monday (Aug 31).

The National Registration Department (JPN) said the disruption is due to the transition process from the existing MyKad to the new-generation identity card.

As such, those without urgent needs are advised to postpone MyKad replacement or exchange applications during the period.

"For first-time MyKad applications for 12-year-old children, parents or guardians are also encouraged to wait a while to enable their children to receive the new-generation MyKad when production begins in the near future," it said in a statement on Tuesday (Aug 25).

The department said it appreciated the public's patience and cooperation throughout the transition process and apologised for any inconvenience that might arise. – Bernama
