SUNGAI PETANI: The discovery of a dead body near here is being investigated as a criminal case.
Kuala Muda OCPD Asst Comm Hanyan Ramlan said they received a report about the body of a dead man in his 30s at 6.55pm on Sunday (Aug 23).
“Preliminary investigations found there were criminal elements linked to the man's death.
“A nickname has been identified, but we are still confirming the victim’s identity," he told reporters here on Tuesday (Aug 25).
ACP Hanyan urged families with missing relatives to come forward to assist with identifying the body.
He also called on anyone with information to assist investigations into the case, which is being probed for murder under Section 302 of the Penal Code. – Bernama
