PETALING JAYA: Strong winds and heavy rain damaged part of the roof structure at Kuching International Airport on Tuesday (Aug 25).
In a statement, Malaysia Airports said a section of the ceiling at the inner lane of the pick-up and drop-off area was affected following a storm earlier on Tuesday.
"Our primary concern is the safety and wellbeing of passengers, airport users and staff. The affected area has been secured, and our teams are on site carrying out safety inspections and coordinating the necessary response measures.
"Airport operations are ongoing, with efforts focused on ensuring safe access to the terminal and minimising inconvenience to passengers,” it said.
