Munirah tops Warisan vice-president race, Junz and Azis secure remaining slots

SANDAKAN: Kota Belud MP Isnaraissah Munirah Majilis topped Parti Warisan's vice-presidential race with 259 votes, according to official results on Sunday (Oct 25).

Tanjung Aru assemblyman Datuk Junz Wong came a close second with 254 votes, while former deputy home minister Datuk Mohd Azis Jamman secured third place with 241 votes.

The three emerged ahead of five other candidates in the closely watched eight-way contest for the party's three vice-president positions during its 10th annual general meeting here.

The outcome, if confirmed, would see Munirah and Azis joining the vice-presidential line-up as two new faces, while Junz successfully defended his position.

Those who failed to secure a spot in the top three included incumbent vice-presidents Datuk Dr Jaujan Sambakong, the Sulabayan assemblyman, and former Moyog assemblyman Terrence Siambun.

The other unsuccessful candidates were Kapayan assemblyman Chin Tek Ming, Warisan Kota Belud deputy chairman Charles Ebbie and Darau assemblyman Azhar Matussin.

Meanwhile, party president Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal and deputy president Datuk Darell Leiking were returned unopposed.

The party's wing elections on Saturday (Oct 24) also saw former Moyog assemblyman Jenifer Lasimbang defeating incumbent Wanita chief Norfaizah Chua @ Giak Kiang, while Norsabrina Japar secured the Wirawati chief post.

Mohd Khairuddin Daud retained the Wira chief post unopposed.

Delegates also elected 20 supreme council members from a field of 39 candidates for the 2026-2029 term.

The leadership elections were held in conjunction with Warisan's 10th AGM, which took place in Sandakan for the first time.
