KOTA KINABALU: A total of RM950.78mil in financing has been disbursed to 44,059 entrepreneurs and cooperatives in Sabah as of September this year, says Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
He said the funds were channelled through the Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry and its agencies.
His speech was delivered by Deputy Chief Minister III and state Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick at the Sabah-level Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia (HPM) Carnival 2026 on Sunday (Oct 25).
“We want to see more local entrepreneurs in Sabah become more digitalised, productive, and innovative while expanding their reach nationally and internationally,” he said.
He welcomed the ministry’s shortened application processing times and the Budget 2027 measures announced by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to lower business costs for MSMEs.
Hajiji urged local business owners to leverage the HPM Carnival for digital training and business matching, advising them to improve product packaging and branding to stay competitive.
