PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has allocated RM390,000 to SJKC Pei Heng in Chemor, Perak, for the school's 100th anniversary celebration.
Housing and Local Government Minister Nga Kor Ming, who represented Anwar at the event, said the allocation was aimed at supporting the school's educational needs and development.
"The contribution reflects the Madani government's continued commitment to ensuring that educational institutions of various streams continue to thrive and receive the necessary support.
"This is to ensure that pupils have access to quality learning facilities and a conducive environment, in line with the aspirations of Malaysia Madani," he said on Sunday (Oct 25).
Nga said the Education Ministry had also allocated RM160,000 to help improve the school's facilities and provide a better learning environment for pupils.
The event, which was attended by more than 1,500 people, also saw a contribution from the Lee Foundation.
Nga said the contribution shows the importance of cooperation between the government, private sector and civil society in supporting education as a key pillar of national development.
Anwar is also the Tambun MP, where the school is located.
