NIBONG TEBAL: Pakatan Harapan will contest the Melaka state election as a united team, says Education Minister Datuk Seri Fadhlina Sidek (Pakatan-Nibong Tebal).
She said the coalition remained committed to working together following the announcement of its candidates.
"As of yesterday, we will go as one Pakatan Harapan team, insya-Allah," she said during the parliament Jelajah Negaraku Aku Kasih Malaysia programme at Taman Widuri on Sunday (Oct 25).
Fadhlina said Pakatan had launched its election slogan, "Melaka Rumah Kita", expressing hope that it would win the support of voters in the coming state election.
She said PKR's decision to field 30% women candidates was a positive step towards giving women greater representation in politics.
She added that the candidates would give voters a choice while reflecting the party's commitment to elevating women's role in public leadership.
On Saturday (Oct 24), Pakatan chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (Pakatan-Tambun) announced the names of 21 Pakatan candidates who will contest in the upcoming Melaka state election.
He unveiled the candidates during an event at the grounds of Stadium Hang Jebat.
The Melaka state election is scheduled for Nov 14, with nomination day set for Oct 31 and early voting on Nov 10.
