Aid for family living in park

AN Indian family living in a ­public park in Kajang has received much-needed help to move into a house, Makkal Osai reported.

The daily had reported the family, with young children, squatting at a playground in Sg Chua as they couldn’t afford to pay rent.

The Sg Chua state constituency service centre and the public came together to help the family find a home and pay the three-month rental deposit.

The service centre coordinator, Bala Krishnan Duraisamy, said they are also helping the parents find stable jobs so they can ­support themselves and their children.

The family has moved into their low-cost housing unit, he said.

The centre will continue its work to help needy residents, especially those from the B40, he said.
