AN Indian family living in a public park in Kajang has received much-needed help to move into a house, Makkal Osai reported.

The daily had reported the family, with young children, squatting at a playground in Sg Chua as they couldn’t afford to pay rent.

The Sg Chua state constituency service centre and the public came together to help the family find a home and pay the three-month rental deposit.

The service centre coordinator, Bala Krishnan Duraisamy, said they are also helping the parents find stable jobs so they can support themselves and their children.

The family has moved into their low-cost housing unit, he said.

The centre will continue its work to help needy residents, especially those from the B40, he said.
