TAIWAN police arrested criminals posing as women to catfish more than 4,500 men into masturbating on video, reported Sin Chew Daily.
Prosecutors have charged three men for the crime, one of whom was a law student at the National Taiwan University.
The suspect named Hong would pose as an attractive woman to lure men into explicit video chats.He would then secretly record the sex act and sell the footage online.
Initial investigation revealed that out of the 321 of Hong’s victims, 32 were minors.
The other two suspects, Xu and Chen, knew each other and targeted men on dating platforms.
After obtaining explicit videos of their victims, they would categorise the videos by appearance and body type before selling them online between NT$250 (RM31) and NT$3,000 (RM371).
The three men charged had a total of 4,579 victims, some of whom were well-known influencers and athletes.
Police confiscated 20,000 explicit videos in their possession.

A woman whose surname was Li stumbled upon the giant avian during a trip with family to Hunchun in Jilin province.

While some netizens were skeptical of the video’s authenticity, local wildlife authorities later confirmed that the bird was in fact a vulture.
A protected species in China, the vulture can grow as tall as 120cm and a wingspan of around two metres.
