PETALING JAYA: Printing company NE Creative Ventures has issued an open apology over the printing mistake on a Jalur Gemilang-themed attire worn by Kedah Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Sanusi Md Nor and several others at a Merdeka event on Friday (Aug 28).
In an official apology letter addressed to the Kedah Mentri Besar's Office, the company admitted that there was an error in the production process which resulted in an inaccurate number of vertices on the star of the printed Jalur Gemilang.
The company from Ayer Keroh, Melaka, said it takes full responsibility for the mistake and will make immediate corrections by providing new replacement shirts that comply with the official specifications of the Jalur Gemilang.
"The design of the attire was printed based on file artwork that was received before going through a technical tracing process in the production phase.
"Our side acknowledges that there was an error after receiving additional orders at the last minute to be completed within a short deadline, resulting in a less thorough, detailed quality control process," the apology letter read.
The company said they took this issue seriously and appreciated the feedback from the public due to the viral photographs of the event where the attire was worn.
This incident has also taught them to tighten their standard operating procedures, they said, especially when it comes to producing attire that bears official emblems, state coat of arms or corporate logos.
"Starting today, the company will make it mandatory for customers to sign off on a final draft confirmation form before any printing process, especially those involving official emblems, state coat of arms or corporate logos," they said.
Previously, pictures of Sanusi and several other dignitaries wearing the attire bearing the inaccurate Jalur Gemilang at a Merdeka event went viral on social media.
The attire received public criticism due to the inaccuracies of the star on the flag design.
