Anwar winds up Penang visit with tea reception at Governor's residence

GEORGE TOWN: Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim concluded his two-day working visit to Penang on Saturday (Aug 29) with a tea reception hosted by Governor Tun Ramli Ngah Talib at his official residence, Seri Mutiara.

In a Facebook post, the Prime Minister said the meeting further strengthened the close cooperation between the Federal and state governments, reaffirming their shared commitment to Penang's development and the welfare of its people.

Meanwhile, Ramli expressed his honour in receiving the Prime Minister, describing the visit as an opportunity to exchange views on several current developments concerning both Penang and the nation.

"I deeply appreciate Datuk Seri's willingness to take the time to visit Seri Mutiara before departing for Kuala Lumpur.

"The meeting was also made lively by the presence of my grandson, Aldrey (Aldrey Alfi), who was so excited to ask questions and was warmly entertained by Datuk Seri. Thank you for the visit and for the continued bond of friendship," he said in a Facebook post.

Anwar's two-day working visit to Penang was packed with a full schedule of engagements, including the Permatang Pauh Entrepreneur Revival Programme, the 15th Malaysia Scout Jamboree and the MADANI Sahabat 2026 National Day Countdown Programme. - Bernama
