PLUS expects up to 2.3 million vehicles daily on highways from March 27 to 29

KUALA LUMPUR: PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) expects that between 2.0 million and 2.3 million vehicles will utilise its highway network daily from March 27 to 29 as travellers return to the Klang Valley following the Hari Raya Aidilfitri holidays.

In a statement on Thursday, PLUS said this influx includes both long-distance commuters and intercity travellers from major towns heading towards the Klang Valley.

To ensure a smoother and safer journey, PLUS encourages the public to plan their travel by utilising the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule.

"Users are strongly advised to adhere to the MyPLUS-TTA digital travel schedule, available via the PLUS application. Planning return journeys according to these recommended travel times will significantly assist in alleviating traffic congestion along the highway," the statement read.

In conjunction with the festive season, PLUS has also activated Smart Lanes at 34 strategic locations along the highway, while the PLUSRonda teams are conducting 24-hour patrols to provide immediate assistance to users.

"Facilities at all Rest and Service Areas (R&R) and laybys have also been enhanced to accommodate the higher volume of visitors during this period," it said.

Highway users are also reminded to ensure their Touch 'n Go card and eWallet balances are sufficient before their journey to avoid inconvenience at toll plazas.

Real-time traffic updates can be obtained via the PLUS application, Virtual Assistant PUTRI, X @plustrafik and @lpt2trafik, Variable Message Signs (VMS), and major national radio stations. – Bernama
