Three more Malaysian Gaza Sumud Flotilla participants detained

PETALING JAYA: Israeli forces have detained three more Malaysian participants of the Gaza Sumud Flotilla (GSF), Muhammad Hareez Adzrami, Taufiq Mohd Razif and Muhd Haikal Luqman Zulkefli.

All three were sailing on the vessel “Free Willy” when they were detained, and Sumud Nusantara Official released their SOS videos.

A total of 21 out of 44 vessels have been intercepted at press time.

Israel has since claimed the intercepted Global Sumud Flotilla volunteers will be deported to Europe.

“Hamas‑Sumud passengers on their yachts are making their way safely and peacefully to Israel, where their deportation procedures to Europe will begin,” the Israeli Foreign Ministry said on Thursday (October 2).

“The passengers are safe and in good health,” it added.

A total of 201 of the 497 Global Sumud Flotilla participants are believed to have been detained by the Israeli military, including 15 Malaysians who were volunteers on Gaza‑bound ships.

Sumud Nusantara Command Centre director‑general Datuk Dr Sani Araby Abdul Alim Araby said that as of 10.44am Malaysian time on Thursday (October 2), 14 flotilla vessels had been intercepted.

He said these include Sirius, Alma, Huga, Grande Blu and Hio, which were carrying seven Malaysian men and five women.
