PETALING JAYA: Firefighters are battling a forest fire involving about five acres of land near Jalan Beringin, Kawasan 13, Port Klang on Saturday (Aug 15).
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director of operations Ashrul Riezal Asbar said the department received a distress call at 1.24pm.
“Firefighters from the Port Klang Fire and Rescue Station arrived at the scene at 1.29pm, about five minutes after receiving the call.
“Initial checks found that the fire involved about five acres of forested area. Firefighting operations are still underway,” he said in a statement today.
Ashrul Riezal said 14 personnel from the Port Klang and Sri Andalas fire stations were involved in the operation.
A Fire Rescue Tender (FRT), Light Fire Rescue Tender (LFRT) and two water tankers were deployed to the scene.
No casualties were reported.
