Global Sumud Flotilla intercepted

PETALING JAYA: Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) vessels which had Malaysians aboard has been intercepted by the Israeli naval forces.

According to the GSF Tracker, several vessels namely Adara, Aurora, Alma, Dir Yassine(Mali), Grande Blu, Huga, Spectre, Sirius and Yulara had been intercepted.

The interception happened at around 8.30pm Gaza time.

Singer Zizi Kirana was aboard the Huga vessel.

Iylia Baliqis Suhaimi, Sul Aidil Sudi and Ahmad Musa Alnuwayri Kamaruzaman were the three Malaysians aboard Alma.

Mohd Rusydi Ramli, Mohammad Zulfadhli Khiruddin, Muhammad Haikal Abdullah and Muhammad Muaz Zain Al Abiddin are the four Malaysians sailing on Sirius.

“My name is Iylia Baliqis Suhaimi, if you are watching this video it means I have been abducted and taken against my will by Israeli forces.

“Our humanitarian mission was peaceful, non-violent and fully in compliance with international law.

“I urgently appeal to the Malaysian government especially the honorable Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to demand my immediate and unconditional release. Thank you,” Iylia Balqis said in a SOS video released on social media.

Similar videos of Zizi, Haikal Abdullah, Muaz Zainal, Zulfadhli Khairudin, Rusydi Ramli, Sul Aidil Sudi and Ahmad Musa Alnuwayri Kamaruzaman were also released.

Red alerts have been issued on social media.

“BREAKING: On Oct 1, 2025

Israeli naval forces illegally intercepted and boarded the Global Sumud Flotilla's vessel Sirius along with other boats in international waters.

Live-streams and communications have been cut. The status of participants and crew remains unconfirmed.

This is an illegal attack on unarmed humanitarians. We call on governments and international institutions to demand their immediate safety and release,” GSF posted on Instagram.

Footages also showed the water canoes being sprayed on this vessels.

International climate activist Greta Thunberg was also sailing on the Alma vessel.

Meanwhile, the Israeli Foreign Ministry posted on X that several vessels have been stopped.

“Already several vessels of the Hamas-Sumud flotilla have been safely stopped and their passengers are being transferred to an Israeli port.

Greta and her friends are safe and healthy,” it said with a video of Thurnberg retrieving her belongings.

GSF is a 44 vessel mission carrying humanitarian supplies and international activists to assist the people of Gaza.
