Budi95 records RM43.7mil in transactions nationwide

PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister’s senior press secretary Tunku Nashrul Abaidah says a total of RM43.7mil in transactions was recorded for 21.8 million litres of RON95 petrol under the Budi Madani RON95 (Budi95) initiative as of Sept 29.

He said that as of 7pm on Sept 29, nearly 912,000 B40 Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) recipients, along with Armed Forces and police personnel, had used Budi95 at petrol stations nationwide.

"In terms of implementation, the Budi95 system remained stable on both days.

"MyKad verification at petrol stations also proceeded smoothly," said Tunku Nashrul during his daily briefing on Tuesday (Sept 30).

The briefing was broadcast live on the Facebook accounts of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the PMO.

Budi95 has been expanded to cover all 16 million eligible Malaysians starting from midnight (Sept 30), he said.

"This initiative demonstrates the government’s concern in fulfilling its promise to protect the people, ensuring they continue to enjoy RON95 petrol while also easing their financial burden," added Tunku Nashrul.

In addition, he said the government will work with E-hailing Operators (EHO) to identify eligible e-hailing drivers for additional subsidised petrol quotas.

"The Finance Ministry, along with the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad), will finalise the application process for additional quotas with EHOs this week," he said.

Tunku Nashrul said the government has also agreed to consider allowing boat operators, especially in Sabah and Sarawak, to be eligible for the subsidised price.

"The government is collaborating with the relevant agencies and state governments to gather data on boat owners to ensure these users are not left out from benefiting under Budi95," he said.

The Madani government wishes to record its appreciation to all Budi95 recipients who have utilised this initiative, he said.

"Every litre carries a thousand meanings for every Malaysian."

"This is the Government’s token of appreciation under the Madani concept, so that our people will always be protected," he said.

He added that the government will ensure the implementation of this policy remains sustainable and continuously strengthened for the wellbeing and comfort of the people.
