MetMalaysia: Severe weather expected in several states until 7pm on May 19

PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak until 7pm on Monday (May 19).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 3.40pm of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang and Selama, Hulu Perak, Kuala Kangsar, Kinta, Kampar, Batang Padang and Muallim), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Maran, Kuantan, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor (Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau and Tampin), Melaka and Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar and Mersing).

Severe weather is also expected in Sarawak: Kuching, Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya), Betong, Sarikei, Sibu, Mukah, Kapit (Song and Kapit), Bintulu (Tatau), Miri (Subis, Miri and Marudi) and Limbang, as well as in Sabah: West Coast (Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, Ranau and Kota Belud), Tawau (Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Kinabatangan, Beluran and Sandakan) and Kudat (Kota Marudu).
