MetMalaysia: Severe weather warning issued for most parts of Malaysia until 4pm on May 2


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak until 4pm on Friday (May 2).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 1pm of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Perlis, Kedah (Kubang Pasu, Padang Terap, Sik, Baling, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Penang, Perak, Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai), Terengganu (Besut, Hulu Terengganu and Dungun), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Raub, Bentong, Kuantan, Bera, Pekan and Rompin), Selangor (Hulu Selangor, Gombak, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan, Melaka and Johor (Segamat and Mersing).

Severe weather is also expected in Sarawak: Sibu (Selangau), Mukah (Mukah), Kapit (Kapit and Belaga), Bintulu, Miri and Limbang as well as Sabah: Interior (Sipitang, Tenom, Kuala Penyu, Beaufort, Nabawan and Keningau), West Coast (Papar, Putatan, Penampang, Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran and Kota Belud), Tawau, Sandakan (Kinabatangan and Sandakan), Kudat (Kota Marudu and Kudat) and Labuan.
