MetMalaysia: Thunderstorms, severe weather expected in Peninsular Malaysia and Sabah until 9pm today


PETALING JAYA: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are expected in parts of Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak until 9pm on Friday (Dec 27).

The Meteorology Malaysia Department (MetMalaysia) issued a warning at 5.40pm of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in Kelantan (Jeli and Kuala Krai), Terengganu (Besut, Setiu, Hulu Terengganu and Dungun), Pahang (Cameron Highlands, Jerantut, Bentong and Rompin), Selangor (Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat, Hulu Langat and Sepang), Kuala Lumpur, Putrajaya, Negri Sembilan (Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau), Melaka and Johor (Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Baru).

Severe weather is also expected in Sabah: the Interior, the West Coast (Papar), Tawau (Tawau and Lahad Datu), Sandakan (Tongod and Kinabatangan), and Labuan.
