MetMalaysia warns of continuous rain across three states


PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning regarding continuous rain in three states.

“Based on the analysis of the latest weather models, the monsoon surge is expected to occur from Dec 28 to 31,” wrote MetMalaysia's Director General, Dr. Mohd Hisham Mohd Anip, in a Facebook post on Wednesday (Dec 25).

“This situation can bring continuous rain to Kelantan and Terengganu during this period. In addition, a low-pressure area is expected to begin forming near eastern Sabah from Dec 28 to 30, and it has the potential to bring continuous rain to eastern and western Sabah,” he added.

The Continuous Rain Warning (Waspada) for Sabah is effective from Dec 28 to 30. Meanwhile, the Continuous Rain Warning (Waspada) in Kelantan and Terengganu is effective from Dec 29 to 31.

MetMalaysia also advised the public to visit www.met.gov.my and its official social media channels and download the myCuaca application for the latest and most accurate information.
