Tamil school teachers win big in competition

TEACHERS from SJK(T) Saint Mary’s in Parit Buntar, Perak, showed that they can do as well as teach, by winning gold in a district-level innovation competition, Malaysia Nanban reported.

The competition for primary school teachers saw participation from most of the 73 schools in the Kerian district.

Kogila Krishnan from Saint Mary’s won a gold medal for developing teaching materials for special education classes.

Her colleagues from the same school, N. Kanageswari and S. Komathy, won three silver medals while other colleagues bagged four bronze medals.

Only 14 of the 73 primary schools in Kerian are Tamil schools, which took home the most number of medals.

Teachers from other Tamil schools in the district won a total of 29 silver and bronze medals.
