State polls: Barisan, Pakatan to launch election machinery starting July 15, says Zambry


PETALING JAYA: Election machineries for the unity government will be launching this Saturday (July 15).

"Barisan Nasional along with Pakatan Harapan will organise the Program Jelajah Perpaduan Madani and Election Machinery launch in Kedah (July 15), Penang (July 16) Kelantan (July 23) Negri Sembilan (July 27) and Terengganu (July 28).

"As such it is hoped that the support of the people will bring success to these programmes, and to also support the candidates of the unity government," Barisan's secretary-general Datuk Seri Zambry Abdul Kadir said in a statement on Monday (July 10).

He added that all party machineries at all levels have been instructed to prepare for the upcoming state elections.

"Partnerships amongst the component parties of the unity government will be strengthened and enhanced.

Polling day for the state assembly elections for Selangor, Negri Sembilan, Penang, Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu has been set for Aug 12.

Nomination Day for all candidates for the upcoming elections have been set on July 29, while early voting on Aug 8.
