THE continued denial of access to the MyKhas Portal for Subang MP Wong Chen’s office is affecting at least six schools, autism rehabilitation centres and several community groups.
Wong said his office has been locked out of the portal for more than a week.
He added that despite repeated letters and formal communications, no official written explanation had been provided by the Prime Minister’s Department’s Implementation Coordination Unit.
“The continued blocking of access is no longer merely an administrative inconvenience to my office.
“It is directly affecting Projek Mesra Rakyat (PMR) applications that are important to the people of Subang across various sectors,” he said in a press conference at the Subang parliamentary service centre in Puchong.
It was previously reported that Wong’s office discovered on May 20 that it had been blocked from uploading PMR applications for schools in the constituency.
Wong said prior to the access restriction, imposed on May 20, his office had successfully submitted PMR applications for 40 schools in the constituency.
Several additional applications could not be processed because of the access restriction, he added.
“The six schools affected are SJK(C) Chee Wen, SK Seksyen 2 Bandar Kinrara, SK Puchong Jaya 2, SJK(T) Castlefield, SK USJ 12 and SK Subang Jaya.
“The delayed projects include school fencing repairs, repainting works, science laboratory upgrades, installation of information boards and improvements to student facilities.”
Wong said low-income communities at Pangsapuri Angsana USJ 1 and Pangsapuri Melur Taman Bukit Kinrara were also affected by delays in PMR applications, which impacted welfare programmes and cost-of-living assistance.
He said two community-based rehabilitation centres (PPDK) – Cahaya Kasih and Wawasan –were also affected, as plans for sensory rooms for children with autism and people with special needs had been put on hold.
Wong added that several federal agencies were similarly impacted including the fire and rescue stations of Subang Jaya and Puchong, Serdang district police headquarters and the SS17 police station.
“Religious institutions such as Surau Al-Mukminin and Sri Subramaniar Temple are also affected, as repair works under the PMR allocations cannot proceed,” he said.
Wong described the situation as deeply disappointing because numerous community organisations and public institutions were paying the price for an administrative restriction imposed without notice or due process.
He added that government administrative and allocation systems should be used to help the people and not make it harder for elected representatives to carry out their responsibilities.
