Somersby Light launches with special appearance by Tomorrow X Together’s Yeonjun

Somersby ambassador Yeonjun delighted fans with a two-song performance and greeting the crowd during the event.

SOMERSBY kept things light and refreshingly uncomplicated as the Somersby Light pop-up experience came to life from April 30 to May 3, at Connection, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.

Somersby Light is a new cider made for moments that do not need overthinking. With 44% less sugar and 42% fewer calories, and an alcohol by volume of 3.5%, the cider is available in 320ml cans and is best served over ice – perfect for light-hearted moments with friends.

Known for its playful, No‑Nonsense spirit, Somersby introduces Somersby Light as a new option made for everyday moments with friends, from casual catch‑ups to spontaneous plans. It is designed to fit naturally into social occasions – keeping the vibe relaxed, fun, and effortless.

“Consumer preferences are evolving, and we’re seeing growing interest in lower-sugar options across everyday choices, including beverages,” said Carlsberg Malaysia marketing director Olga Pulyaeva.

“Innovation has always been at the heart of Somersby and seeing how consumers engaged with the Somersby Light experience over these four days brought that to life. The pop‑up was about creating light‑hearted, uncomplicated moments, and it was rewarding to see that resonate so naturally with our consumers.”

During the event, consumers stepped into the Somersby experience at Pavilion KL, where they were among the first to try Somersby Light and take part in a series of light-hearted, interactive activities created around the brand’s “No-Nonsense” spirit.

During the four-day activation, the Somersby Light pop-up at Pavilion KL brought the brand’s spirit to life and welcomed 39,500 attendees. During this time, attendees took part in light‑hearted games and activities like “Meet Your Pickleball Avatar”, interactive pickleball-themed activity and stand to bring home exclusive Somersby merchandise upon purchase.

The experience culminated in a memorable highlight on Sunday, May 3, when Somersby’s regional ambassador, Yeonjun of Tomorrow X Together, took to the stage for a special appearance. During the session, five lucky fans were each rewarded with a four-can pack of the new Somersby Light, adding to the excitement of the pop-up experience.

Following his initial appearance, Yeonjun made a surprise unannounced return, delighting fans with a two-song performance and greeting the crowd, further energising the atmosphere and marking a memorable close to the pop-up experience.

Somersby is delighted to announce the renewal of its collaboration with Yeonjun of Tomorrow X Together, extending the successful partnership for another year across selected Asian markets.

Building on the strong synergy and creative alignment established to date, the continued collaboration will span across Hong Kong, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea and Vietnam.

This renewal reflects Somersby’s commitment to engaging consumers through vibrant, young and dynamic energy, with Yeonjun embodying the brand’s refreshing and "No-Nonsense" spirit and modern appeal across the region.

Somersby activities are open to non-Muslims aged 21 years and above. Carlsberg Malaysia advocates responsible consumption, reminding its customers to #CELEBRATERESPONSIBLY – and not to drive after drinking.

Somersby Light is available at participating supermarkets and hypermarkets, as well as online via Shopee nationwide.
