ONGOING efforts are helping transform Selangor Fruit Valley (SFV) into an international agro-tourism attraction to bolster the state’s agro-economy.
Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation’s (PKPS) attraction in Bestari Jaya recorded a total of 500,000 visitors between 2021 and 2025, reflecting the demand for agro-based tourism, education and family recreation.
SFV has also received tourists from countries such as the United Kingdom, Australia, Russia, China, India, Japan and South Korea.
“SFV recorded an income of RM7mil in 2025 covering fruit and vegetable sales, agro-tourism activities and land lease to agri-entrepreneurs,” PKPS group chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi said in a statement.
“In 2025, SFV received about 100,000 visitors and is targeting 150,000 in 2026 in line with the state’s agro-tourism sector development strategy.”
SFV is promoting agro-education tourism via interactive experiences related to agriculture, crops and food ecosystems to visitors of all ages.
Among the main attractions are the Eco Bridge, Animal Garden, Rabbit Garden, Deer Garden, Duck Garden, Village House, Fish Garden and various water activities.
Visitors can also experience riding a tractor-pulled tram, feeding animals, learning how to make salted eggs, driving all-terrain vehicles, picking fruits and vegetables and planting trees.
“It is in line with PKPS’ aspiration to strengthen the agro-economy through an integrated approach that combines tourism, education and community development,” he added.
“As a leading organisation in the plantation and agro-food industry, PKPS is committed to leading the transformation of Selangor’s agriculture sector towards a more modern, competitive and sustainable ecosystem.”
In January, PKPS launched Agribusiness Transformation Plan 2026-2030 (SEED 2030) to strengthen the state’s food security and ensure food access in the face of global challenges.
“SEED 2030 is driven by five strategic thrusts supported by PKPS subsidiaries including SFV, with a focus on strengthening the food supply chain, agricultural innovation, talent development and a high-value agro-economy.
“SFV is not only growing as a tourist destination, but also serves as an agro-education platform and catalyst for the development of the state’s food industry,” added Mohamad Khairil.
