QuickCheck: Did a man rush in front of a moving vehicle in JB?


A DASHCAM footage has gone viral showing a man standing in the middle of the road before rushing in front of a moving vehicle in Johor Baru.

Did this really happen?

According to Johor Baru North OCPD Asst Comm Radin Ramlan Radin Taha, the incident happened at 5.24pm on June 17 at Jalan Persisiran Perling, Johor, heading towards Perling toll plaza.

"In the video, the man in a white and blue striped T-shirt and dark pants was standing in the middle of the road.

"He suddenly rushed to one side and stood in front of an oncoming vehicle, which had a dashcam," he said in a statement on Friday (June 19).

ACP Radin Ramlan said that luckily, the driver was able to stop before any collision.

He added that based on initial findings, the man is believed to be mentally ill.

"However, we are currently still looking to identify the man and the owner of the dashcam," he said and urged anyone with information to contact the police.
