Videos of a man running after a group of foreign children at a boat jetty has sparked anger online.
Xenophobic behaviour should never be condoned but did this really happen recently as seen in the viral video?
Verdict:

FALSE
Terengganu police said that three viral videos showing a man taunting and chasing foreign children in Kampung Losong Masjid are not new and date back from 2024.
Terengganu police chief Datuk Mohd Khairi Khairudin said the videos were filmed between March 28 and Dec 25, 2024 and were uploaded to TikTok recently.
He said police had identified the individual in the videos and that the man chased the children because he believed they had tampered with his equipment and boat at the Losong Masjid boat jetty.
"The man taunted and chased the children away to get them to leave the jetty but a friend recorded the incident and uploaded it to TikTok," said Mohd Khairi.
He said the individual did not expect the footage to go viral much less trigger so much backlash.
Mohd Khairi said the man had been warned not to repeat the act.
He also urged the public to use social media responsibly, adding this could lead to investigations under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998. Offenders could face a fine of up to RM50,000, one year in prison, or both.
