MOST people hang their laundry out to dry without giving it a second thought, confident that what goes up on the rack will still be there when it comes down.

Residents of Kampung Tasek in Ipoh are no longer so sure, after a video went viral showing a man brazenly helping himself to clothing left out to dry, underwear included.

Is there really an underwear thief on the loose in Ipoh?

A man was caught on CCTV stealing clothing, including underwear, from a house in Kampung Tasek, Ipoh on Friday (April 17) at approximately 12.51pm, with footage of the incident going viral on social media.

Ipoh district police chief Assistant Commissioner Muhammad Najib Hamzah said CCTV footage from the scene showed an unidentified man arriving on a motorcycle, taking clothing that had been left out to dry and leaving on the vehicle, which had an unclear registration number and model.

Efforts to identify and locate the suspect are actively ongoing.

Members of the public with information are urged to contact the Ipoh District Police Headquarters at 05-245 1500 or report to the nearest police station.

Residents have also been advised to step up security measures, including installing fences and security systems, to prevent similar incidents.
