MALAYSIA is set to welcome F1 back to the SIC after nine years by hosting the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix from Oct 2-4.
Recently, several posters seeking volunteers for the event have been circulating online.
Some of the posters include QR codes that claim to lead to a volunteer application. But are these posters legit?

The Youth and Sports Department has confirmed that several posters concerning applications to become volunteers for the F1 Bahrain GP as fake.
According to the department, the unauthorised posters contain QR codes which lead to pages not managed or supervised by the government.
"We detected several fake posters circulating, purportedly related to volunteer applications for the Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia 2026.
"The posters contain invalid QR codes that lead users to webpages not managed or monitored by us or the Institute for Youth Research Malaysia (IYRES)," it said in a statement on Facebook.
Members of the public have been advised to be cautious and to refer only to official posters and announcements published through the official social media channels of the department, the Youth and Sports Ministry, or agencies under the ministry.
The official volunteer opportunity was listed through MyProfil, IYRES' digital platform for youth profiles and community-involvement opportunities.
However, the MyProfil page now shows that the volunteer offer is closed and no longer active because of internal changes.
