Faulty lifts at Ipoh hospital to be replaced, says Perak Health Dept

IPOH: The old lifts at Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun here will be replaced in phases, says the Perak Health Department.

A department spokesman said this was part of its long-term plan to resolve the issues of faulty lifts at the hospital's main building to improve operations.

"As of now, four of the six lifts are operational.

"The other two are being fixed and their components replaced to ensure that they are safely operational again in the near future," the spokesman said in a statement on Wednesday (May 20).

"The area is a busy one and the disruption was due to technical and high usage issues.

"We appreciate the public's patience and cooperation while the improvement and maintenance works are being conducted," he said.

Several posts on social media had complained about the disruption of the lifts' operations.
