Senior citizen found murdered in Ipoh house, suspect arrested


 IPOH: A 70-year-old woman has been found murdered at a house in Taman Desa Aman here.

Ipoh OCPD Asst Comm Muhammad Najib Hamzah said the victim is believed to have been killed with a sharp weapon, as she was found with multiple injuries on her body, head and neck on Monday (May 4).

"The victim was found unconscious and pronounced dead by a medical officer.

"A parang believed to have been used in the incident was also recovered at the location," he said in a statement on Tuesday (May 5).

"A 52-year-old local man was arrested at the scene to assist in investigations," he added.

ACP Najib said the motive for the killing is still under investigation and that the case is being probed under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.

"The victim’s body has been sent to Hospital Raja Permaisuri Bainun for a post-mortem," he said, while urging the public not to speculate on the case.

"Those with information on the incident are urged to contact the Ipoh district police headquarters at 05-245 1500 or the nearest police station to assist with investigations," he added.
