PONTIAN: Several Umno leaders have filed a police report over the delay in implementing the house arrest order for former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Pontian Umno chief Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan, who is also a party supreme council member, filed the report with his deputy Mohd Sumali Reduan, vice-chief Jamaludin Abd Majid and several grassroots leaders.
"A police report was lodged over the delay in implementing the house arrest order for Najib, which should have been carried out," he said in a Facebook post on Saturday (Nov 7).
The report was lodged at the Benut police station in Pontian at 12.30pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Pasir Gudang Umno Youth is expected to lodge a similar police report against the Attorney General at the Seri Alam police headquarters.
On Friday (Nov 6), Najib's lawyer Muhammad Farhan Muhammad Shafee confirmed that the RM50mil fine imposed on Najib in the SRC International Sdn Bhd case had been paid at the Kuala Lumpur High Court registry.
However, the AGC later called for the house arrest implementation to be temporarily deferred pending clarification of legal questions surrounding the conditional pardon order and its implications for Najib's prison sentence in another case.
