King's breakfast stop at Johor R&R garners social media buzz

JOHOR BARU: Photos of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia visiting and dining at the Dusun Panti rest area have generated buzz on social media, with many commenters praising the King for his warmth and simplicity.

According to a post on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's official Facebook page on Wednesday (May 20), he visited the rest stop earlier this morning for breakfast.

It said that many who were there for breakfast were shocked to see him at the rest area in Dusun Panti, Kota Tinggi.

His Majesty, who is also the Sultan of Johor, was said to have enjoyed a plate of lontong.

Many were seen taking the opportunity to greet the King and take selfies.

Many commenters said this was a normal sighting as His Majesty can usually be seen visiting local eateries.

User @Khaidzir Mahmood said His Majesty had, on different occasions, been seen having breakfast at another restaurant, eating fried beehoon and having a teh tarik while chatting with the locals.

"He is a humble person," he said.

@Laura Love said it must have been nice for other diners to meet and be able to interact with His Majesty.

"How lucky they are to have dined while he was there.

"I am sure they had a memorable breakfast," she said.
