Penang FC management needs revamp after poor results, says state opposition

GEORGE TOWN: The opposition leader has urged the state government to overhaul the management of Penang FC after a series of disappointing results raised concerns about the team’s competitiveness.

Muhammad Fauzi Yusuff (Perikatan - Sungai Dua) said that despite the state government allocating RM8mil annually to the club, Penang FC has struggled on the field.

"In the current Super League season, the team has won only one of eight matches," he said.

Muhammad Fauzi added that the underperformance of foreign players Lim In-kyu from South Korea and Limbikani Oscar Mzava from Malawi has reportedly failed to meet expectations.

"For the President’s Cup, Penang FC II has managed just one victory out of 20 matches and sits at the bottom of the table. In the Youth Cup, Penang FC III is ranked 8th out of 26 matches, with only eight wins," he said.

He proposed a complete revamp of the club’s management to address ongoing issues and restore Penang FC to its former glory.
